15.09.2013 | 20:51 - I Love You Records start collaboration with Sons Of Noel and Adrian

Latvian label I Love You Records will become the official representative of British band Sons Of Noel and Adrian in the Baltic states. The agreement includes release, distribution and promotion of SONAA current album Knots in Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania.

SONAA is an experimental band based in Brighton, England. They are known for their live performances with up to thirteen musicians on stage, all of whom play with many other bands.

The band members are noted for being extremely collaborative. As well as almost every member of the band having a solo project, and all of them collaborating with other musicians from within the Willkommen Collective.

When the situation arises SONAA are the critics’ choice band to quote, lust after and claim they’ve always loved. That’s usually when referencing the Brighton music scene, their label Willkommen or Laura Marling, with whom the band have toured extensively since they formed in 2008.

The band’s debut self-titled album was released worldwide in April 2010. It features the likes of Nick Hemming from The Leisure Society on banjo and mandolin, Mike Siddell from Hope of the States and Lightspeed Champion and many other well respected multi-instrumentalists. Critics described the album as a more orchestral take on the American nu-folk movement. The band then toured the UK twice with friends Mumford & Sons and gigged extensively.

In 2009 the band played several high profile London shows including the Royal Festival Hall with Laura Marling, the Union Chapel with The Leisure Society. Marcus Mumford of Mumford & Sons joined the band on stage for their performance of “Indigo”.

2012 was a busy year for the band – four members of SONAA performed as part of Laura Marling’s band on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury festival and featured on her album Live At York Minster and in March 2012, the band confirmed the second album’s title and announced a release date of May 21, 2012 supported by a short UK tour. Critics noted a marked departure from the debut, exploring and combining a wider array of genres. And through an explosion of styles, Sons of Noel and Adrian prevail – controlled, talented and ramshackle; making their second album „Knots” an intriguing and enchanting listen.

In view of the bands achievements so far and the potential future scene, it is definately no wonder that the Sons of Noel and Adrian are in the same bag along with the most rising folk stars of the last decade.
